The Houston Astros and General Manager Dana Brown have mutually agreed to part ways. His contract was set to expire at the conclusion of the 2026 season.

Prior to leading Houston's front office, Brown spent over three decades building a reputation as one of Major League Baseball’s premier talent evaluators.

Brown played college baseball at Seton Hall alongside MLB stars Mo Vaughn and Craig Biggio before being selected in the 1989 MLB Draft by Philadelphia.

As Vice President of Scouting for the Atlanta Braves, Brown was instrumental in identifying and drafting core talent that fueled Atlanta's World Series era.

Hired in January 2023, Brown became the second African American GM in Astros history, guiding the franchise to AL West titles in his first two seasons.

Brown reshaped Houston's roster through key moves, securing long-term core extensions like Jose Altuve and navigating complex pitching rebuilds.

Assistant GMs Charles Cook, Gavin Dickey, and Connor Huff—alongside Senior Advisor Jeff Bagwell—will manage duties while Jim Crane oversees operations.
